Hot Stamping

Hot stamping of glass bottles is a decorative process, the principle of which is to firmly attach gold or other colours to the surface of glass bottles with the help of hot pressure transfer technology. After this process, the surface of the glass bottle shows a textured metallic luster.

Advantages And Disadvantages of Hot Stamping

Advantages

Outstanding visual effect: the glass bottle after hot stamping has a strong metallic luster, and the gold colour usually gives a noble, gorgeous and exquisite feeling, which can significantly enhance the grade and attractiveness of the product, especially suitable for the packaging of high-end cosmetics.
Environmentally friendly: Compared with some printing processes that require the use of large quantities of ink, the hot stamping process does not involve the use of large quantities of ink, which reduces the volatilisation of organic solvents and the generation of waste, and causes relatively little pollution to the environment.
Wide range of application: able to do hot stamping effect on top of different shapes of glass bottles, such as round, oval, square, etc., with high flexibility and versatility.

Disadvantages

Limited choice of colours: The variety of colours available for hot stamping is relatively small, with metallic colours such as gold and silver dominating.
Higher cost: The hot stamping process requires special hot stamping equipment and electrified aluminium foil, with larger investment in equipment, and the price of electrified aluminium foil is relatively high compared to ordinary printing inks.
Complicated process control: temperature, pressure and speed need to be precisely controlled, otherwise it is easy to burst gold, pattern defects or insufficient adhesion and other problems.
